Try to be God. Rest on Sundays!

The Sheffield General Cemetery along Cemetery Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK.

"By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work." - Genesis 2:2
"For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work." - Hebrews 4:4

Two simple scriptures, not really difficult to memorize.

People landed themselves into a job or a career that requires them to work on Sundays and rest on 2 selected weekdays. And some would work 6 days a week and rest on a selected weekend or a weekday. I seriously pity those who has no off days or rest - everyday is a working day, unless they're sick and bed-ridden.

Those who work without rest are not trying to be God, they're trying to be ABOVE God. I don't care what your beliefs are, but humans are not created to work. The curse that Adam brought to himself cause the entire mankind  to work for a living (so do resign, LOL!)

But that's not the point.

We need rest. Rest is not a thirst where you can put up with until you're almost dead, then you go grab a drink. Rest is providing your body the opportunity to regenerate and heal itself, don't wait till your body gives in to itself. In some countries, falling sick means suicide ... you stay home until you're bone dry (physically and financially), your wife and your children would sit around you while your relatives prepare for your funeral at your family's expenses. In some countries, falling very sick means your insurance company will find ways to not cover you because, i.e your sickness is documented as pre-existing condition and therefore they can't cover you, and you will soon spiral into bankruptcy because  you can't pay your car installments, your mortgages, your bills, etc. while you foot sky-high medical bills and not being able to work. Even if they eventually cover you, the coverage won't be able to buy a full 3 meal, let alone medical bills and other expenses per day.

What the average Malaysians will always do is ...

Study hard, get a degree, get into the rat race, elevate to the highest possible level in the society by hook or by crook, get good coverage, retire, fall sick and die. I will never ever deny the ability to fall sick because we don't breath clean air anymore, we don't eat healthy food and drink clean water anymore. And on top of it, we don't really rest.

So, take some time to rest ... be like God, don't be ABOVE God.
