My 2 Baht about the whole William Yau kidnapping case

Find him. Hang that bastard.

My heart goes out to the parents of William Yau, the 6 year old boy who went missing and found dead yesterday. His case became a Malaysian sensation as people shared about his news all over Facebook, Twitter, and many other social networking sites. You can read about my earlier post about this here.

The boy is found dead.

A reward of at least Rm30,000 has been offered for a missing boy in a country where kidnapping is an offense punishable by death. There is no mention of a mysterious caller asking for a ransom as well. What we have here could be a case of kill-or-die. Should the kidnapper keeps the boy, he would become noisier by the day, it's a bad call. Sooner or later, with so much publicity, somebody is going to see or hear something. Should he call for a ransom, the authorities will trace the call and vigorously pursue the suspect since the case received so much hoo-haas. Police had to work on the case under pressure from their paymasters, the public, so there's no 'besok-lusa' (procrastination).

The kidnapper decided to kill the boy, at least he still have a chance of escape.

I bet the boy was lost while looking for a way home, and somebody picked him up. That somebody decided to kidnap keep him, was hard-up for money but doesn't dare to call for ransom, and he has just got himself a noisy bell. The boy wants to see his parents, wants to eat, he wants to run away, he was throwing tantrum. The guy took a day or two to decide what he wants to do with him, and in the meantime, news of the missing kid is gaining momentum, both on the mainstream media as well as social sites. William's keeper has been labeled a 'kidnapper', he didn't see that coming.

Being labeled a kidnapper has no difference as being labeled a murderer. It's death sentence in Malaysia. In a fit of panic, and with the boy driving him up the wall, he decided to get it done and over with.

The boy is now cold and quiet.

Worried that a rotting dead body will draw unwanted attention, he buys time by throwing the poor kid into a river. The bastard of a murderer can now run away. The police now have a case on their hands. A missing boy case has turned into a murder. We now have a body, and a murderer who is still at large.

Find that son of a bitch and hang him.
