A short trip to Penang Island

I made a short trip to Penang Island with a friend recently and took some photos from my walkabout along Jalan Penang, or Penang Road. A rather sunny day though but it wasn't that warm, it was pretty windy the entire day I was there.

Penang Island is a tiny but well developed and managed commercial island in Malaysia, should you decide to visit Malaysia someday, Penang is an island rich in heritage, culture, and food. It shares similar weather pattern as the rest of Malaysia. It's not as touristy as Pattaya or Phuket, but it has its own attractions.

Below are photos I took with my phone from the walkabout :

Tricycles, a popular mode of transportation for nearby destinations among tourists.

If you don't have the dough for alloy rims, don't part next to picturesque buildings.

A nicely done interior.

They have a huge collection of photographs, color as well as black and white from all over the world.

I was told the museum would be open for rental soon for events, photo exhibits, gatherings, etc.

There's a section of souvenirs and accessories as well. And no, this is not a Leica!

There's plenty of sunlight coming from the open ceiling, minus the heat.

Penang Island has its own airport, you may fly in from Kuala Lumpur. Alternatively, you may come by bus directly into the island, or by train to mainland Butterworth train station, then take a ferry into the island.
