Are there any differences the way we communicate and use knowledge?

Of course there are.
  1. It took only two and a half decade for a briefcase computer to become a 3/4 inch thick laptop, because people take priority in procession information than to communicate.

  2. It took FOUR DECADES for people to shrink the size of a mobile phone to finally become a SMART phone ... because the land line phone was a convenience all our lives and mobile phones were not really affordable until the early 90s.

And people were less competitive. Today, you simply own a phone (or two) just because you simply need one. Many people own a phone but still lack communication skills - most of the time it's for attention.
